Biography
Dr. Concepción Marañón got her PhD in Biochemistry in 1998 at the University of Granada (Spain) through the study of the biology and immunogenicity of the protozoan parasite Trypanosoma cruzi. Afterwards she moved to Institut Cochin in Paris working on the role of different immune populations in the physiopathology of HIV infection and the mechanisms of immune protection against the virus. From 2011 she switched to the autoimmunity field, and currently she focus in the functional validation of genes involved in susceptibility to systemic autoimmune diseases, as well as the discovery of relevant biomarkers for their precision diagnosis.
